The Grand Mufti of Lebanon, Sheikh Abdul Latif Daryan, received the president of the “Beirut for Social Development” and “Emkan” associations, Ahmed Hashmieh, at Dar Al-Fatwa, who was accompanied by a delegation. Hashmieh handed over the health insurance agreement and insurance cards for scholars and the religious and administrative staff of Dar Al-Fatwa in Beirut.
After the meeting, Hashmieh stated, “We handed His Eminence part of the health insurance cards for the scholars in Beirut, and the remaining cards will be delivered before Eid al-Fitr. This is part of a program launched by the Beirut for Development Association under the directives of President Saad Hariri.” He also revealed that “a parallel program is being prepared, which is a health solidarity fund for scholars and mosque imams in different regions and governorates of Lebanon. We informed His Eminence about this program.”
He added, “We briefed His Eminence on the Emkan Association project, which has provided increased electricity supply hours for all mosques in the Koura area through a solar energy system. The project will soon be completed in the Qalamoun area.”
Hashimieh also noted that both associations are continuing the “distribution of food parcels and financial aid, aiming to complete it before Eid al-Fitr, in addition to distributing Eid clothes.”
He concluded by saying, “We extended our greetings to His Eminence at this house known for its steadfast commitment to the path of moderation. We conveyed President Hariri’s greetings to His Eminence and his well-wishes for Eid, reaffirming our commitment to be supporters of moderation and Dar Al-Fatwa and its leader.”
